HiRel Systems is currently seeking a Bilingual Manufacturing Engineer for it manufacturing facility in China. This position may be located at either of our manufacturing facilities in China or Marshall, MN. Travel and extended stays at both locations will be required.
SUMMARY: To provide technical support in the areas of product development and general production. Recruit, hire and train other technical and production personnel. Position reports to local General Manager and ideal candidate will have potential to assume a managerial role.
DUTIES:
• Define and implement processes for manufacturing (routing, standard work, and manufacturing documents)
• Implement and maintain process controls
• General production troubleshooting (testing, assembly, component, etc.)
• Identify, define and implement the need for manufacturing tooling and equipment
• Facility and line layout
• Assist with defining training for front line team members on new processes
• Monitor and improve efficiencies and productivity
• Improve plant safety and ergonomics
• Address quality issues and identify and apply corrective actions and work with necessary designers and other necessary departments
• Mentor within the department
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical engineering and/or 5+ years industry related experience essential
• Strong computer (Windows, Access, spreadsheet, CAD), oral, written, and interpersonal skills required
• Strong problem solving abilities necessary
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma preferred
• Bilingual skills (reading, writing, communicating) in both Chinese and English are required
• Previous managerial or China related experience is a plus
