Design Engineer
PURPOSE:
Performs all design-related functions pertaining to specific design inquiries.
DUTIES:
• Evaluates new customer inquiries for completeness and feasibility.
• Creates and documents design plans (i.e., product realization plans)
• Translates customer design input into a viable component specifications (i.e., design output) using CAD design and/or simulation software, design handbooks, or other scientifically valid methods.
• Documents, maintains, and revises design output documentation in accordance with the current quality system requirements.
• Consults with Lab and Manufacturing personnel to facilitate prototype building and production manufacturability.
• Creates and documents test plans and evaluates test data for design verification, validation, and manufacturability purposes.
• Consults with Quality personnel to facilitate failure analysis and recovery plans.
• Visits potential customers to present HiRel Systems, LLC design capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years solid experience in the area of magnetics (transformers, inductors, and power supplies)
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, problem solving and strong computer skills essential
• Ability to travel is required
