    Sr. Power Supply Design Engineer

    Sr. Power Supply Design Engineer

    PURPOSE: To design power electronic products for use in high reliability applications.

    DUTIES:

    • Design power electronic assemblies for manufacturability. Prepare or direct preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.

    • Direct and coordinate building of prototype products or systems.

    • Provide technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations affecting long-range plant and product engineering planning.

    • Plan and develop experimental test programs. Train technician personnel in test procedures.

    • Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product. Working knowledge of Six Sigma and SPC requirements and practices.

    • Plan and develop experimental test programs. Train technician personnel in test procedures.

    • Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.

    • Confer with other engineering personnel and prepare design modifications as required.

    • Work with manufacturing engineering to transition prototype products to production build.

    • Evaluate engineering test results for possible application to developments of systems or other uses.

    • Regular contact with customers, including meetings with their technical and procurement staff members.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 8+ years related industry experience in the area of power electronics design required.

    • Shock and vibration application experience essential.

    • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, problem solving and strong computer skills.

    • Working knowledge of Six Sigma and SPC requirements and practices preferred.

    • Ability to travel is required.
